Roads are an important part of any infrastructure system and this is also true for Greater China.

Hong Kong's roads have one of the highest vehicle densities in the world. In September 2003, there were over 522,745 licensed vehicles and only 1,932 kilometres of roads - 433 kilometres on Hong Kong Island, 446 kilometres in Kowloon and 1,053 kilometres in the New Territories.

Hop Shing Engineering & Construction Limited was involved in many areas of the construction and has also been involved in the maintenance and improvement projects since their completion.
